It’s great to stay in bed and then roll out whenever you feel like it. I don’t normally stay in bed that long because my back starts to hurt but I was awake for a couple hours in the middle of the night so I stayed in bed.
I logged onto the laptop and was opening a new browser tab when this article jumps out at me… The Return of Handwriting by John Marcus. It talks about how handwriting is therapeutic and it puts to work an entirely different part of the brain.
When the schools talked about no longer teaching it a number of years ago I even did a radio show explaining why it should be saved. Every novel I have ever written, anything I have ever written has started off with pen to paper. I journal in pen on paper. It is therapeutic. It’s a connection I have never found with my keyboard. I’m grateful the keyboard exists because of the speed at which I can type but I feel very numb when I’m typing. I almost have to separate my brain from my fingers in order to not make so many typos.
So for those of us who can and do still use cursive writing… kudos to us all! For those who can’t, well, take a class or look it up online. It’s not difficult and you will, no matter what, form your own personal letter library… some of what I write uses the same form as a printed letter for example… my capital ‘A’ always looks like this I never use the handwritten form of the letter which is just a large sized small ‘a’ anyway!

Today I have to go to the dentist… YUCK and then I get to go get the appraisal done on the Rogue and set up a time to have it fixed and get a rental… yeah, still too soon for further comment on the situation!
